    Apr 26, 2015

LOS ANGELES – Manny Pacquiao was reunited with his first ever trainer on Saturday morning (Sunday, Manila time).

The man who played the trainer in his highly-acclaimed biopic that is.

Actor Cesar Montano together with Grammy-Award winning rapper Apl de ap of the Black Eyed Peas, joined the boxing champion as he did his weekend workout at Pan Pacific Park, sparking mayhem among boxing fans and simple bystanders who all tried to have a glimpse of the three well-known personalities.

Montano, who portrayed Pacquiao’s uncle Sardo, the man who first introduced him to boxing in the movie ‘Kid Kulafu,' ran alongside the eight-time world division champion.

Apl de Ap (Allan Pineda Lindo) later linked up with Pacquiao and Montano when the boxing superstar began doing his abdominal exercises.

After the workout, Montano was mobbed by fans seeking photos and autographs before quietly slipping away from the prying eyes of the public.

The award-winning actor is here together with ‘Kid Kulafu’ director Paul Soriano to support Pacquiao in his May 2 (May 3, Manila time) title showdown against Floyd Mayweather Jr. at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

A day before, Montano tried to visit the 36-year-old Pacquiao in training at the Wild Card gym, but failed to connect with the boxing champion as he worked out behind closed doors.

Montano’s character in the movie was the one responsible for calling Pacquiao ‘Kid Kulafu’ during his growing up years when the celebrated boxer collects and cleans Vino Kulafu bottles as a part-time job.
