LAS VEGAS – It’s certainly a can’t-miss fight, so it’s not surprising to see a huge number of sportswriters from around the world converge here to chronicle the title showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Top Rank officials disclosed scribes from at least 30 countries around the world had applied for accreditation to cover the 12-round bout featuring two of the biggest names in prizefighting today.

Countries as far as Ukraine, Spain, and Switzerland have dispatched either TV crews or members of both print media and sports portals to be at ringside for the 12-round match for the unified world welterweight title.

While a huge bunch of those covering are from the US including major dailies such as the New York Times, Washington Post, and LA Times, mediamen from Mexico, Japan, Great Britain, Canada, among others, have also flown in as early as fight week.

Not to be outdone, a large number of media men from Philippines media networks such as the Inquirer, Philippine Star, and the Bulletin, television networks ABS-CBN, GMA-7, and TV-5, along with sports portals Spin.ph, Rappler, and PhilBoxing, are also in full force to capture the latest - and some say biggest - chapter in the journey of the country’s most beloved son in his quest for greatness.
