LEAVE it all for Manny Pacquiao to do it.
In what could be a rare, historic moment in Philippine television, the country’s three giant networks are set to simultaneously air the May 2 megafight pitting Pacquiao against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Insiders have confirmed that ABS-CBN, GMA Network, and Sports5 have all expressed interest in buying airing rights for the so-called ‘Fight of the Century’ from Solar Entertainment Corp.
Solar Sports, which has long owned the media broadcast rights of Pacquiao fights in the past, also holds the exclusive broadcast to the multi-billion match in the country after shelling out a whopping $10 (P440 million).
GMA Network, where the 36-year-old boxing superstar has been a talent for several years now, previously is the lone network to show Pacquiao bouts on free television.
Although no one among the three stations would neither confirm nor deny the reports, all the involved networks have expressed intention to pay a huge sum for one of the biggest events in Philippine sports history.
