THE rematch between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather has been shelved indefinitely.
Pacquiao’s camp made the confirmation from Los Angeles, where the Filipino boxing legend is currently staying following the recent wedding of his eldest son Jimuel.
The 12-round non-title bout was scheduled for a Sept. 25 fight date at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, supposedly to be streamed live by Netflix.

But the recent legal action taken against Mayweather by the company behind his planned exhibition match against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson put into doubt his rematch with Pacquiao, more than a decade since their first meeting set the record as the richest fight ever in boxing history.
At best, Pacquiao expects the fight to be moved early in 2027.
CSI Sports Events sued Mayweather, 49, for scheduling an exhibition bout with Greek kickboxer Mike Zambidis in Athens this Saturday despite paying the undefeated fighter and his management $4.5 million in advance for the Tyson exhibition bout and the rematch with Pacquiao.
A pre-fight medical amounting to $150,000 were also paid in advance to the Olympic bronze medalist.

The federal lawsuit was filed in New York along with an injunction to stop the exhibition bout between Mayweather and Zambidis. The exhibition in Greece has since been called off and it remains uncertain if ever it will still push through.
Should a settlement between CSI and Mayweather be reached, the Tyson exhibition fight is being penciled for a Sept. 12 date, bumping off the Sept. 25 rematch with Pacquiao in the process.
The postponement of the Pacquiao-Mayweather rematch is just the latest drama to hound the promotion.
Originally set for Sept. 19 at The Sphere, the grudge match was thrown in disarray when Mayweather insisted it would merely be an exhibition, to which the Pacquiao camp countered the contract signed was for a professional fight.
As the issue dragged on, organizers were forced to move the bout one week late on Sept. 25 from The Sphere to the T. Mobile Arena.
The Sept. 19 fight date at The Sphere has since been booked for a concert by the Eagles.
