BOXING great Manny Pacquiao is expected to shed light on what the future holds for him when he arrives in the country early Wednesday morning from Los Angeles.

Accompanied by wife Jinkee, their five children, close relatives and friends, the 36-year-old Filipino is expected to be back here by the break of dawn following a 13-hour flight from the US aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR 103.

He arrives with a cloud of uncertainty over his career, almost two weeks since absorbing a unanimous decision loss to unbeaten rival Floyd Mayweather Jr. in their much hyped title match at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Controversy has also dogged the Filipino boxing hero over his decision to fight even if he was nursing a right shoulder injury which his camp failed to disclose to the Nevada Athletic Commission a day before the 12-round match.

Pacquiao aggravated the injury during the course of the fight, resulting in a tear in his right rotator cuff which later required arthroscopic surgery that delayed his return to the Philippines by one week.

Adoring countrymen are expected to give him a warm welcome, but at the same time expect him to clear the air on issues surrounding the Mayweather loss as well as his plans for the future.

The Filipino southpaw is expected to lay down his career plans in the following months as he recuperates from the shoulder procedure that is expected to sideline him for at least half a year.

Also expected to be addressed by the eight-time world division champion is the latest statement of Mayweather not to give him a rematch by next year after calling him a ‘coward’ and a ‘sore loser.’
