THE highly-anticipated showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. heats up further as the collective marketing team in charge of the richest fight in boxing history just came out with an official video commercial for the historic May 2 bout (May 3 in Manila) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The video was filmed in a Los Angeles studio on the evening of March 11 featuring boxing’s two biggest names, who face each other in the ring three weeks from now in a momentous welterweight title unification bout that was five years in the making.
The 30-second spot is a creative collaboration among Mayweather Promotions, Top Rank, Showtime PPV, and HBO Pay-Per-View.
In the video, both Mayweather and Pacquiao were shown walking separately in the middle of the desert as the voice-over blared in the background with the words ‘It’s Time’, ‘Two Legends’, ‘One Destiny.’
Both fighters eventually met and came face-to-face, with the MGM Grand in Las Vegas serving as background as the clip ends with the booming statement ‘All roads end here.’
The commercial highlights the anticipation, the build-up, and the great magnitude of the once-in-a-lifetime event.
It also serves as the cornerstone of an aggressive multi-media marketing campaign that takes place in the next four weeks leading up to the mega-fight.
