FOR Nonito Donaire Jr., age is just a number.
The Filipino will attempt to become the oldest bantamweight champion in history on Sunday (Manila time) as he takes on Mexican Alejandro Santiago for the vacant WBC bantamweight crown at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
"Everybody showed up to dance around, but I will show all these guys what this old man can do," said the 40-year-old Donaire.
The "Filipino Flash" showed he's ready for another shot at a world title as he tipped in at 117.2lbs during the official weigh-in on Saturday (Manila time).
Santiago, 27, on the other hand, came in at 117.5lbs.

The fight serves as a major undercard in the Terrence Crawford-Errol Spence welterweight unification bout.

Donaire is actually aiming to break his own record as oldest bantamweight title holder in history which he earlier achieved in 2021 at 38 years old when he stopped Nordine Oubaali in the fourth round to wrest the WBC championship.
But he's coming off a devastating two round TKO loss to unbeaten pound-for-pound champion Naoya Inoue of Japan as he tried to unify the bantamweight championship.
But Donaire is unperturbed as he remains focus on becoming an undisputed champion of the world.
"I'm going to keep going. I'm going to keep fighting, and I'm going to get that undisputed bantamweight title," he said.
"That's the only thing I have not done."
Donaire, four-time division champion, sports a 42-7 card (28 KOs), Santiago is coming off a three-fight winning streak for a 27-3 record (14 KOs).
