THE show where Manny Pacquiao’s stellar boxing career all started is making a comeback.

Blow By Blow, the weekly boxing program which first introduced the Filipino boxing icon to the public in the 90s, airs on tv anew and will now be shown on TV5, with no less than Pacquiao joining the ringside broadcast panel.

The show now known as ‘Manny Pacquiao Presents: Blow by Blow’ airs every Sunday at 2 p.m. starting on Dec. 13 just before the PBA games.

“The re-launching of ‘Blow by Blow’ was Manny’s idea. He believes that with the needed support and exposure, many young Filipino boxers could make it big in the sport,” said Sports 5 head Chot Reyes during the recent launching of the program, where he was joined by former North Cotabato gov. and boxing impresario Manny Pinol and Lito Mondejar, one of the men behind the original Blow by Blow tv show.

The show follows a format where boxers are classified in five weight categories, namely flyweight, bantamweight, featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight.

A boxer in each division who registered the most number of wins in 12 months will be named Most Outstanding in his group and gets a trophy and cash prize.

Regardless of weight, the boxer who shows exemplary performance during the season will be named Most Promising Boxer in Season 1 and will receive Manny Pacquiao MPB trophy and cash prize.

Aside from acting as part of the panel annotating the fights, the 36-year-old Pacquiao is also going to do a 30-second demonstration of boxing moves and techniques that will be an integral part of the show.

“Manny will also be the head of the committee which will choose who among the boxing prospects would be voted as the most valuable boxer at the end of the tournament,” added Reyes.
