NESTHY Petecio will vie for the gold medal in the Aiba Women’s World Championships 2019 after beating Karriss Artingstall of England on Saturday in Ulan-Ude, Russia.
Petecio won via unanimous decision in her featherweight semifinal match with four judges scoring the bout, 30-27, 29-28, 29-28, and 29-28. One judge scored the fight, 30-27.
The Filipina fighter will go for gold on Sunday against Liudmila Vorontsova of Russia, who beat Lin Yu Ting of Chinese Taipei, 3-2.

Petecio will look to become the first fighter since Josie Gabuco in 2012 to win the women’s world title in boxing.
Petecio won over second-seed Stanimina Petrova of Bulgaria in her first bout, and beat Jieru Qiao of China in her next fight. In the quarterfinals, Petecio beat Irie Sena of Japan.
