    Muhammad Ali rooting for Pacquiao in megafight against Mayweather, says daughter

    According to daughter Rasheda, Muhammad Ali, who is battling Parkinson's Disease, is not planning to watch the bout in person but will definitely see it on pay-per-view.

    'THE Greatest' Muhammad Ali is rooting for Manny Pacquiao in his May 2 fight against Floyd Mayweather, according to the boxing legend’s daughter Rasheda.

    In an interview with TMZ, Rasheda bared his dad has made it clear where his sentiments lie in one of the biggest fights in boxing history, adding Ali 'really likes Manny.'

    “My Dad is Team Pacquiao all the way,” Rasheda told TMZ. “My Dad really likes Manny. He’s a huge fan of his.”

    Asked why his father won’t be rooting for countryman Mayweather, Rasheda said: “My Dad stood for things. Mayweather … I don’t think there’s any comparison.”

    Incidentally, Ali fought one of his greatest bouts in Pacquiao’s homeland. Ali beat 'Smokin' Joe' Frazier in the classic ‘Thrilla in Manila’ on October 1, 1975 at the Araneta Coliseum.

    But more than Pacquiao's skills as a fighter, Rasheda said his father also admires the Filipino icon as a person.

    “He knows Manny’s a great fighter but it’s more about what he does outside the ring. He’s such a charitable person,” Rasheda said.

    Rasheda said Ali, who is battling Parkinson's Disease, is not planning to watch the bout in person but will definitely see it on pay-per-view.
