HOLLYWOOD – Mommy Dionisia Pacquiao would rather let her action do the talking when asked what she thinks about her celebrated son’s coming welterweight world title bout against Timothy Bradley.
The elder Pacquiao candidly raised her right arm with an open hand before swiftly bringing it down when asked how the fight would end, obviously expecting the unbeaten American to go down this time against the eight-time world champion son.
But other than that, 'Mommy D,' who was in her signature huge sunglasses with matching jacket, would rather not mince a single word about the April 13 (Manila time) rematch pitting the 35-year-old Pacquiao against his former conqueror.
The Pacquiao matriarch was at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas when the Filipino boxing hero lost his World Boxing Organization (WBO) title belt to Bradley following a controversial split decision.
The outspoken Mommy Dionisia, like the rest of the stunned boxing world, criticized how the judges saw the fight.
So it came as a big baffle when `Mommy D’ kept her silence on what she thinks about Pacquiao-Bradley II.
No ounce of persuasion could forced her to talk about the match, repeatedly trying to cover her mouth so as not to say a thing or two, until deciding to just give out her thoughts through mere hand signal.
`Mommy D’ arrived here Thursday night and will be watching the fight together with husband Rosalio. Both were around the Wild Card gym when their son did his afternoon workout on Friday.
While the two are going to be present at ringside on fight night, Manny’s wife Jinkee won’t be around as she is due to give birth this month in the Philippines to her fifth child with her boxing superstar husband.
