LAS VEGAS - Boxing legend Mike Tyson, a longtime fan of Manny Pacquiao, believes the Filipino's power and speed will reign supreme against his Floyd Mayweather Jr.
Speaking to Spin.ph, Tyson is hoping Pacquiao’s tame behavior during interviews and the final press conference which he witnessed will be thrown out the window once the fight begins on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time).
In fact, the former heavyweight champion hopes to see Pacquiao turn into a 'monster' when the bell rings.
“He has to be a monster. He has to be an intelligent monster. He can’t just rush in, he has to be very elusive, which he is. He is very elusive, he is very fast,” Tyson said.
“From Manny’s appearance, he is very aggressive and he is very hard to hit. Manny should do very well,” added the 48-year-old retired boxer.
“This is going to be a great fight. No doubt about that,” he added.
Tyson also expressed his preference for Pacquiao, saying the Filipino superstar is a complete boxer who can give Mayweather a lot of trouble.
“Floyd has to force (himself) to score more than 38 punches around this guy. Manny is gonna close, Manny’s gonna be close, Manny will be fast and moving side to side. Floyd has got to bring more than an A-plus game (to win),” he said.
Meanwhile, Tyson was among the loudest in the crowd while Pacquiao and Mayweather swapped compliments rather than harsh words during the press conference.
Asked why he kept on shouting, Tyso had a very straightforward response.
“There’s been a lot of buildup. Coming to the press conference it was very subtle… it was very nice. It was very polite here,” he said with a huge smile. “It’s not like I am in the church, but it’s like I am in a library. It’s bizarre.
“Boxing is very different now from when I boxed. These two are businessmen, I am a natural-born killer. I want to win, I want to win in dramatic fashion. I want to hurt people. I don’t like hurting people but I am just so damn good at it.”

Asked if he sees Mayweather or Pacquiao retiring after the fight, Tyson said he hopes not.
“They don’t need to retire. There are still a lot of fights to fight. It’s not a such a dramatic. They can do it again,” he said.
Tyson said he’d like to watch the fight, but isn't sure if he will be one of the chosen 200 guests of Pacquiao.
