Pacman mega-fight back in frame as Floyd released from jail

Hope for Pacman fight revived as Mayweather released from jail
Aug 3, 2012

BOXING superstar Floyd Mayweather Jr. was finally released from a Las Vegas jail on Friday after serving just two months of a three-month sentence for a domestic battery case.

The native of Grand Rapids, Michigan wore a Miami Heat cap, and later pulled his gray hooded sweatshirt over his head, when he walked out of the Clark County Detention Center. Family members and close friends, numbering about 20, welcomed Mayweather Jr. and shared hugs with him, including 12-year-old daughter Iyanna, and manager Leonard Ellerbe.

Work time and good behavior allowed the unbeaten boxer to skip the remaining 30 days of his jail term.

Mayweather didn’t talk to hordes of media present during his jail release as he immediately got on to his blue Bentley sedan and drove away along with several friends including rapper 50 Cent, who’s rumored to be his new boxing promoter.

The former Olympian last fought in May of this year when he scored a 12-round unanimous decision over Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto to wrest the World Boxing Association (WBA) light-middleweight title belt. He raised his perfect record to 43-0, with 28 KOs.
