They Said It!
“Who?" - curt reply given by Floyd Mayweather Jr. after a reporter asked if the undefeated boxer is now willing to face Manny Pacquiao
IT appears Manny Pacquiao still remains out of Floyd Mayweather Jr’s radar.
Mayweather Jr. admitted he’s now trying to wrap up plans for his possible opponent by next year, and from all indications, it appeared the unbeaten World Boxing Council (WBC) welterweight champion is still not interested in facing Pacquiao inside the ring.
Interviewed by beat writer David Mayo of Grand Rapids Press, Mayweather said he’s not thinking about boxing at the moment but disclosed an announcement may be made by next week about his next opponent.
Asked about a fight with the 34-year-old Pacquiao, the native of Grand Rapids Michigan curtly replied, `Who?’
Mayweather Jr., who sports a record of 45-0 with 26 KOs, is scheduled to fight on May 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and speculations have it that former Pacquiao sparmate and ex-world light-welterweight champion Amir Khan is high on his list of possible opponents.
The former Olympic bronze medalist is coming off a unanimous decision win over Canelo Alvarez last September.
Top Rank Promotions chairman Bob Arum has already announced plans for Pacquiao to fight again on April 12 in Las Vegas. The Filipino ring icon scored a lopsided 12-round win over Brandon Rios in Macau just a week ago.
