LOS ANGELES – Blame it on 'Pacmania.'

Strict security and regulations had to be enforced within the Wild Card gym premises on Thursday after adjacent establishments complained about business being affected by a huge throng of fans waiting for Manny Pacquiao outside the famous sweatshop along Vine St. in Hollywood.

Each side of the halls leading to the gym had to be cordoned off, while Wild Card security chief Rob Peters had to ask the crowd to move a little farther from the steel gate of the fitness club where the Filipino boxing superstar was training.

The presence of Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg likewise added to the tightened security around the area.

Yet the people didn’t mind.

A group of Christian devotees continue doing their business in one area of the parking lot as they sang gospel songs while spreading the word of God and praying for Paquiao’s victory over Floyd Mayweather on May 2 (May 3 Manila time) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Two beauty queens in Miss Young Philippines USA 2014 winner Aislyn Sebastian and Miss Philippines USA 2014 Hannah Marte also attracted quite an attention with their good looks and bubbly spirit as they gamely granted interviews and photo ops to people waiting for Pacquiao and even to curious bystanders.

After more than two hours of waiting, Pacquiao finally showed up riding in his black two-door Mercedes Benz SL500, briefly waving to the crowd as his vehicle passed by before speeding off on his way home .

But just by seeing their idol was more than enough for the people who stood and waited outside the gym. Afterall, that’s what Pacmania is all about.
