NONITO Donaire believes Manny Pacquiao will beat Timothy Bradley this Saturday (Sunday Manila time), but the current WBO super bantamweight champ noted Pacquiao's performance will depend on how mentally prepared the Filipino ring superstar is for the fight.
Donaire said he felt Pacquiao won in the previous two fights he had with Bradley, including the first one which he lost in controversial fashion in 2012, and the third bout will have the same result.
“First and second fight, we all know nanalo si Manny dun. We know na mas magaling at mas mabilis si Manny,” said Donaire on Thursday at the ELJ Building inside the ABS-CBN compound during the press conference for his fight against Zsolt Bedak on April 23.
“If he is focused, he will win the fight. If he is not focused, it will be a difficult road but I think he will still win the fight,” he added.
Pacquiao looks to win in what could be his last fight of his boxing career, but his exploits outside the ring has been well-documented, with his campaign for a senatorial seat in this year’s elections taking up most of his time recently.
Donaire said how focused Pacquiao is in his preparation for the fight will play a role in how he will win over Bradley.
“The ultimate question is, 'Is he focused for this fight?” Donaire said. “Everything else, alam natin na he is better. Pero kung wala ‘yung focus, and this thing goes to all fighters, is wala dun mentally, even half, it becomes a harder fight because you are not adjusted mentally.”
