MAKING up for lost time, Manny Pacquiao says he’ll finally enjoy family life now that he’s retired from boxing.

And it soon began the moment he went back to the country to a hero’s  welcome early Thursday morning, four days after making his farewell fight against Timothy Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The boxing hero caused a commotion at the old Ninoy Aquino International Airport when he arrived aboard Philippine Airlines flight PR 103, accompanied by wife Jinkee and his entire family.

Pacquiao was mobbed by employees and passengers who were at the airport early in the morning, asking for autographs and pictures with the greatest Filipino boxer of all-time.

He had to be hurriedly whisked by security personnel to the airport lounge for a brief arrival press conference, where his retirement and future plans were discussed.

It was there that Pacquiao said he’ll try to spend as much time with his family after being away from them for most of the time while still active in the ring.

The legendary Filipino pug spent more than a month in the US to train for his fight against Bradley, who he beat via unanimous decision last Sunday in what was to be his final bout as a pro.

“Makakapag-spend time na ako kasama ang aking pamilya, hindi katulad nung dati,” he told mediamen.

Again, he reiterated he's through with boxing as he thanked the entire Filipino people for being there for him right from the start.

“Happy ako sa pagiging retired life,” added Pacquiao.

The legendary Filipino ring icon was later toasted to a sumptuous breakfast by GMA-7 at Dusit hotel, before having his motorcade along the busy streets of Manila that took him around Makati and Quezon City while on board a huge truck covered with posters bearing his image.

Pacquiao and his entourage ended up spending the afternoon at the Gateway Mall at the heart of Cubao, where they had lunch in one of its hotel.

The eight-time world division champion then personally mmet reigning Ms. Universe Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach, who was also at the same venue for a different event. Pacquiao willingly obliged when he signed a boxing gloves for the stunning Filipina and had his photo taken with her.

The Pacquiaos spent the rest of the day at the family residence in Forbes Park Makati. They are scheduled to go to General Santos City over the weekend, where a separate hero’s welcome will be given to the Pacman.
