Manny Pacquiao postpones announcement of next opponent for April 9 fight
Fred Sternburg, spokesperson of Top Rank Promotions chief Bob Arum, says Manny Pacquiao is “not ready” to make the decision on who the Filipino boxer’s next opponent will be.

MANNY Pacquiao has called off Friday's (Saturday, Manila time) scheduled announcement of his next, and probably his last, opponent for his projected April 9 fight, ESPN.com’s Dan Rafael reported on Thursday (Friday, Manila time).

Fred Sternburg, spokesperson of Top Rank Promotions chief Bob Arum, told ESPN.com that Pacquiao is “not ready” to make the decision on who the Filipino boxer’s next opponent will be.

"I was asked to tell you on Bob's behalf that, unfortunately, Top Rank will not have an announcement on truTV as originally planned as Manny is not ready to make a decision on his opponent yet," Sternburg said.

Arum had initially said Pacquiao will announce his next opponent during the ‘MetroPCS Friday Night Knockout’ program aired in the United States over truTV.

Timothy Bradley, Terence Crawford, and Amir Khan have been mentioned as Pacquiao's possible opponents for the fight slated for April next year, before the Sarangani congressman campaigns for a Senate seat in the 2016 elections.

A rubber match against Bradley seems likely for Pacquiao after the last two times both men faced off in the ring ended up in a split.
