JESSIE Vargas is set for the biggest fight of his life.

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has chosen the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champ as his opponent in his comeback fight from retirement this November.

"May napili na si Manny. Si Vargas," said Pacquiao's business manager Eric Pineda on Wednesday after Mahindra's 101-95 upset of Alaska in a PBA Governors Cup game in which the boxing champion played.

Pineda said he didn't see the entire list of opponents although it's widely believed world light-welterweight champion Terrence Crawford was included.

The 28-year-old Crawford successfully defended his World Boxing Council (WBC) and WBO titles two weeks ago with a 12-round unanimous decision win over Viktor Postol, trained by Freddie Roach.

Days after the bout, Roach himself admitted Crawford would be a very dangerous opponent for the 37-year-old Pacquiao, now a Philippine Senator, in his comeback match.

Asked about it, Pacquiao didn't specifically mentioned Vargas' name.

But he did say the November 5 bout will be discussed and hopefully, finalized when Top Rank CEO Bob Arum comes over in Manila next week.

"Pag-uusapan pa lang namin," said Pacquiao before leaving the Mahindra dugout at the Big Dome.

Arum initially announced the Thomas&Mack Center in Las Vegas will host the match, but later said he'll be having negotiations with some big-time business people who are interested to hold it in Dubai.
