FLOYD Mayweather Jr. only had positive things to say about Justin Bieber, who took a hit from netizens for showing up at the press conference for his pal's May 2 fight against Filipino boxing hero Manny Pacquiao in Los Angeles on Wednesday (Thursday Manila time).

Mayweather told E! News Bieber is a “great kid, super talented” in the wake of mixed reactions from media and netizens about the pop star’s unannounced appearance at the press conference.

Mayweather and Pacquiao were set to grant photo opportunities to the media when Bieber suddenly appeared to join them along with members of the two rivals' respective camps.

Bieber has since posted a photo of himself with Mayweather on his Instagram account even as the moment was captured by different media outlets and picked up by netizens, most of whom have branded the young singer a ‘videobomber’ or ‘photobomber’ on social media.

TMZ Sports even ran a story about their interview with Bieber, saying he is no sidekick of Mayweather despite their closeness to each other.

Bieber and Mayweather are good friends and are regularly spotted together in the undefeated boxer's training in his own gym, in NBA games, and other high-profile events.

When asked by boxingscene.com recently about what he learned from Mayweather, Bieber said: “Just to be really confident.”
