NOT even the rains could slow down the “Pacman.”
Showing how determined he is to win his comeback fight, Manny Pacquiao didn’t mind the pouring rain on Friday in General Santos City as he continued to train for his showdown with reigning World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse two months from now.
In a series of photos sent to various publications and websites, Pacquiao was shown jogging around the oval along with members of his team, unmindful of the downpour.
The 39-year-old fighting senator was seen wearing a headset, and in blue shorts and white long-sleeve shirt with the words ‘Fight On’ written in bold letters, printed on it.
The eighth-time world division champion was joined by Chinese fighter Lu Bin.
The 23-year-old Lu, a gold medal winner in the 2012 AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships who represented his country in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, will be fighting in the Pacquiao-Matthysse undercard when he challenges reigning champion Carlos Canizales for the WBA light-flyweight title.
Head trainer Buboy Fernandez supervised Pacquiao’s training. He is being assisted by brother Haplas Fernandez and Nonoy Neri.
Sparring session for Pacquiao will start by next week.
