MANNY Pacquiao may have easily handled Jessie Vargas in their World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title bout, but he’s not about to walk away with the title without any damage.

The boxing legend had to skip the post-fight presser for the 12-round match as it was later revealed the 37-year-old Filipino southpaw suffered a cut over his head following an accidental headbutt with his 27-year-old foe.

The cut, which the Pacman suffered in the 12th and final round, needed 16 stitches to close.

Pacquiao also had to do post-fight drug testing administered by the World Anti-Doping Agency or WADA that Top Rank promoter Bob Arum excused him from showing up for the post-fight press conference at the Thomas and Mack Center.

Pacquiao cruised to victory against Vargas behind a unanimous decision win to regain a piece of the world’s 147-lb. title.

He won by scores of 114-113, 118-109, 118-109 in a dominant showing before a crowd of 16,152 that included longtime rival Floyd Mayweather Jr., who watched from ringside.

The fighting senator of the Philippines was responsible for scoring the match’s lone knockdown after nailing Vargas with a crisp, left straight in the second round.

The deposed champion was already a bloody mess by the ninth round as blood dripped from a cut on his right eye caused by Pacquiao punch.

In the end, though, it was the newly-crowned welterweight king who needed stitches to close a cut on his right eye.
