BOSTON Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas believes Floyd Mayweather Jr. will go for the knockout against Manny Pacquiao after seeing videos of his friend in training.
In a report by the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Thomas said he has been in touch with Mayweather recently, getting videos from the unbeaten fighter.
Thomas said he believes Mayweather will go for the knockout in the fight set May 2 in Las Vegas (May 3, Manila time).
“The way Floyd’s training right now, I think he’s going to try to knock Pacquiao out,” said Thomas, whose Celtics are battling the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
“In the videos he has sent me, I’ve never seen him hit so hard during training. Floyd’s going to knock him out because there’s a lot at stake and you never know how they’re going to judge the fight,” Thomas added.
Thomas and Mayweather have been good friends, with the American fighter even giving the Boston Celtics guard a Bentley worth $200,000.
The Celtics are two games behind the Cavs in the best-of-seven series.
