LAS VEGAS – A third and deciding fight with Tim Bradley is farthest from the mind of Manny Pacquiao.
He’s looking at his Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) rematch against the reigning World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion as some sort of a closure.
“I’m thinking about this as the final answer,” said the Filipino boxing legend, stressing the obvious.
The possibility of a third meeting with Bradley was brought up on Tuesday during Pacquiao’s grand arrival at the MGM Grand here, in the event the pride of General Santos City even things up with the American from Palm Springs, California this weekend.
But the Pacman doesn’t see it that way.
“I’m not thinking about that,” he said when asked about the possibility of his rivalry with Bradley extending to a third bout. “Winner always thinks positive.”
Bradley shocked the world in 2012 when he upset Pacquiao in their June title bout behind a controversial split decision despite the eight-time world champion clearly dominating the entire 12-round match.
The 35-year-old three-time Fighter of the Year had no problem accepting the judges’ decision, questionable as it may be, since deep inside he believed it was he who should have been declared the winner.
“I think there’s something wrong. I’ve been in boxing for 20 years and I know who is winning and who is losing,” stressed Pacquiao during the hour-long media interview inside a function room of the hotel.
