MANNY Pacquiao finally wraps up training camp for his welterweight title match against Jessie Vargas this weekend in Las Vegas.
The 37-year-old Filipino, who will be challenging for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) 147-lbs. crown of Vargas, sparred for one last time at the Wild Card gym in Los Angeles on Monday morning (Tuesday, Manila time) before his team headed towards ‘Sin City’ later in the afternoon.
He went four rounds with long-time sparmate Ray Beltran to conclude a whirlwind LA camp after arriving in the US just two weeks ago. Pacquiao did most of his seven-month training in the country as he split his time doing his work in the Senate while preparing for the 12-round match against Vargas.
The 27-year-old Vargas and his entourage are already in Las Vegas, where they held a media workout at the Top Rank gym along with the other fighters seeing action in the undercard, including reigning WBO super-bantamweight title holder Nonito Donaire Jr. and challenger Jessie Magdaleno.
Team Pacquiao later arrived in the world’s ‘Entertainment Capital’ Monday night in time for fight week’s grand arrivals at the Wynn Hotel on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).
The final presser is set Thursday, while the official weigh-in is on Saturday, all Manila time.
