HIS prize purse may not be sufficient, but leave it to boxing legend Manny Pacquiao to provide the rest.

The eight-time world division champion rewarded newly-crowned International Boxing Federation (IBF) junior bantamweight champion Jerwin Arcajas a P.5 million cash bonus following his 12-round unanimous decision win against Puerto Rican McJoe Arroyo on Saturday night at the Philippine Mariner Corps gymnasium.

The 24-year-old Filipino southpaw actually just earned $3,700 (or roughly P173,000) for beating the 30-year-old Arroyo. In all Ancajas actually received a meager $2,700 minus the $1,000 sanction fee.

As his promoter, Pacquiao deemed it best to give Ancajas the reward he truly deserved.

“Kawawa naman. Ang liit ng premyo. He (Ancajas) deserves to get a bonus for bringing honor to our country,” said Pacquiao, who was personally visited by the 24-year-old world champion at his Forbes Park mansion in Makati shortly after the fight, and at his Senate office on Monday afternoon.
