HOLLYWOOD – Manny Pacquiao came out firing on Tuesday (Wednesday Manila time) during the few remaining sparring sessions of his ongoing training camp.

He has lot of reasons to be.

The legendary boxer welcomed a piece of good news after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) decided not to stop the Philippine broadcast of Pacquiao’s April 9 face-off against Tim Bradley at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

The decision of the poll body on the matter was unanimous, according to Comelec chairman Andres Bautista.

Pacquiao, 37, who is running for a seat in the Senate in the coming national polls, said the decision is a victory for the Filipino people.

“This is not politics. This is for the people and the country,” said the eight-time world division champion after wrapping up a seven-round sparring session against Ghislain Maduma and Lydell Rhodes.

“Natutuwa ako sa favorable na decision ng Comelec,” he added. “Maganda yun kasi maraming matutuwa.”

Then just when he was about to leave aboard his gray Ferrari 458 Italia, he was gracious enough to sign autographs and take pictures with children, who waited for him for more than an hour just to see him in the flesh after training.
