MANNY Pacquiao and Top Rank smoked the peace pipe three days after the boxing legend threatened to file a legal case against the promotional outfit owned by Bob Arum for non-payment of the broadcast earnings from his world title bout against Lucas Matthysse.

In an Instagram post, the 39-year-old boxing legend said the lawsuit threat was just a ‘result of miscommunication between my Team and Top Rank.’

“Everything has been clarified,” added Pacquiao, although the Filipino senator didn’t elaborate.

Top Rank immediately called up the camp of Pacquiao when reports came out the ring icon is initiating legal proceedings against Arum and his outfit.

Pacquiao posted on Instagram about his plan to sue Top Rank as he has yet to receive his share of payment from the broadcast fees of his July 15 World Boxing Association (WBA) welterweight match against Matthysse in Kuala Lumpur.

The caption on that post has since been taken down.

On Wednesday though, Arum told ESPN boxing beat writer Dan Rafael that lawyers of both parties are already talking about the financial issue.

“We read the Instagram post and (Top Rank attorney) Harrison (Whitman) handled it with Pacquiao’s attorney,” said Arum. “It looks like everything will be resolved.”

Pacquiao said he’s grateful to Arum and Top Rank for all the good things it did on his legendary boxing career in the 12 years that he fought under the top boxing promotions.

“I would like to thank Bob and Top Rank for helping guide my career and for the many great years of working together,” he said.

“We have accomplished so many amazing things together,” added the eight-time world division champion.

There was no mention however, if Pacquiao is still willing to work with Top Rank again in his future fights.
