FORMER two-time world champion Ana Julaton failed in her comeback bid after losing by unanimous decision to Celina Salazar in their 10-round super-bantamweight fight at Plaza de Toros Saturday in Cancun, Mexico (Sunday, Manila time).
It was the first fight for the California-based Filipino-American in over a year since scoring a sensational first round technical knockout of Abigail Ramos in Yucatan, Mexico in August of 2012.
The 33-year-old Julaton fell to 12-4-1 record with 2KOs, while Salazar, younger at 24 and a native of San Antonio, Texas improved to 6-1-2 with 1 KO.
Julaton is a two-time World Boxing Organization super-bantamweight title holder.
The match served as part of the undercard of the World Boxing Council super-featherweight title match between champion Takashi Miura and challenger Sergio Thompson. Miura retained his title via unanimous decision.
