JINKEE Pacquiao said she will understand if Manny Pacquiao decides not to move training camp to General Santos City as he prepares for the July 2 fight against Jeff Horn in Australia.
“On the day I left GenSan, napagusapan na namin yung whether they will be transferring doon,” said the former Sarangani Vice Governor.
“I told the children the possibility of that not happening because of the present situation in Mindanao. And, yun nga, baka ma-distract ang ensayo,” Jinkee told SPIN.ph when she visited Pacquiao’s training at the Elorde Gym in Pasay City.
Moving the camp to General Santos City means Manny will be with children Jimuel, Michael, Princess, Queenie and Israel before he travels to Brisbane for the World Boxing Organization welterweight title fight.
But Jinkee said that although the family wants to be with Manny, they want him to be totally focused with the fight just four weeks away.
Ilang laban na lamang naman and he will be retiring. Magkakasama-sama na rin kami nang matagal.”
Manny and Jinkee were married in 2000 when the boxing icon was still World Boxing Council junior-flyweight champion.
Jinkee has stood by her husband through 11 world title victories in eight weight divisions, and huge losses such as the fight with the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather.
“When I gave birth to Jimuel and Michael a year after our marriage, kasama na rin sila sa kaligayahan, pag nananalo, at pag-iyak pag natatalo,” she said.
“It’s been a very long time na, no? Buti nga ngayon skype na,” she narrated.
