After taking on 24-year-old Brendan Lally, Jimuel Pacquiao now takes on 36-year-old Darrick Gates for his second professional bout set on Saturday (Manila time) at the Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula, California.

The 25-year-old son of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao will be eyeing his first professional win in the four-round clash set at lightweight.

The young Pacquiao was held to a majority draw by Lally during the former's ring debut last November in the same venue.
More mature challenger
But now he’s up against a battle-scarred opponent, who has also boxed just once last March of 2025 in a loss against Jursly Vargas.
Gates, however, had been a veteran of the bareknuckle competitions where he holds a total of eight fights, but won just once.
Pacquiao came in the heavier of the two fighters at 136.8, while Gates tipped in at 133.8.

The elder Pacquiao is expected to be at ringside together with wife Jinkee to watch their oldest child box his follow up bout.
The Pacquiao couple arrived in Los Angeles the other day.
The four-round clash is part of the undercard of the Pedro Taduran-Gustavo Perez Alvarez title match for the IBF mini-flyweight crown currently held by the Filipino.
