JIMUEL Pacquiao finally registered his first career victory as a pro fighter, scoring a second-round stoppage of Darrick Gates in their lightweight clash at the Pechanga Casino Resort in Temecula, California on Saturday (Manila time).
With his legendary father Manny Pacquiao watching at ringside with mother Jinkee, the 25-year-old Filipino didn’t lose time in taking it to his veteran opponent with a four-punch combination to the body that sent the former bareknuckle fighter down for the first time.

As the 36-year-old Gates managed to beat the count, the young Pacquiao went for the kill and delivered a vicious right blow to the body that brought the American down to his knee.
The referee stopped the four-round bout, as Gates appeared dazed and wobbly despite being up on both feet at the count of 10.

It was the first pro career win for Pacquiao’s oldest child and namesake, who had to settle for a majority draw in his debut fight against Brendan Lally.
Gates, who has fought eight times in bareknuckle fights, dropped to a 0-2 record in his boxing career.
