The fight at the Kokugikan Arena ended at the 44-second mark of the ninth round.
"I was ready to go the full (12) rounds, but I didn't expect this result," said the champion, who was joined in the ring celebration by his more famous brother, undisputed super-bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue.

Inoue is now 19-1 with five KOs with Ancajas his biggest victim yet in a pro career that began 11 years ago.
Ancajas, the long-reigning IBF super-flyweight champ, fell to 32-4 with 23 KOs after losing ffor the third time in his last four fights.
