BRISBANE, Australia — The camp of Jeff Horn is hardly concerned the challenger will have a hard time losing the excess weight with just a few days left before facing the biggest fight of his young career.

The Australian challenger to Manny Pacquiao's World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title admitted still weighing nine pounds over the 147-lbs limit less than a week going to the 12-round bout at the Suncorp stadium here.

The disclosure came on Monday when Horn, 29, held an open media workout at the gym located inside the $10 million palatial house of his trainer Glenn Rushton.

But Rushton,59, is not one who pushes the panic button at the slightest need.

"That's normal for Jeff," said Rushton in allaying any fears of his fighter failing to make the weight.

Official weigh-in for the match is set on Saturday also at the Suncorp Stadium.

"My current weight today, 71 or 72 kilos maybe," said the former school teacher and 2012 London Olympian just before he did six rounds in the mitts with Rushton at the Stretton Boxing Club, the same gym where he started to box more than a decade ago.

Despite still overweight, Rushton, who's been training Horn for his entire career, beamed at how the Australian fighter is 100 percent fit for what will go down as the biggest boxing event ever in Down Under.

"Manny Pacquiao will have nothing on Jeff Horn in terms of spiritual strength. Jeff is as strong as an ox. He believes in himself 100 percent. He'll have nothing on Jeff in terms of condition," said the boxing and mixed martial arts trainer.
