BRISBANE, Australia – His name evokes that of a boxing legend. And Dundee Kim hopes to produce one four days from now.

The strength and conditioning coach of Jeff Horn is hopeful the Australian challenger would be able to pull off an upset in his first attempt at a world title just by staring at how reigning champion Manny Pacquiao looks.

Kim said the 38-year-old boxing icon appeared not really in shape for his defense of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight championship Sunday at the Suncorp Stadium here.

The 49-year-old Kim said he first came over Down Under as an MBA student, who also took up theologian ministry.

And lest be forgotten, he wasn’t named after the late great legendary trainer Angelo Dundee.

“My Korean naman is Deuk-Rae-Kim and friends called me Dundee after the movie ‘Crocodile Dundee’,” he recalled. “Dundee is well-known in Australian names so I stick to Dundee which everyone remembers.

Certainly, fans would do the same for Horn if and when he gets to beat Pacquaio inside the ring.
