Former Tim Bradley trainer Joel Diaz says Manny Pacquiao has American rival 'all figured out'

Timothy Bradley faces tall odds in his third match against Manny Pacquiao.

TIM Bradley has beaten Manny Pacquiao once, but his former trainer Joel Diaz believes it won't happen again.

Speaking for the first time about the April 9 welterweight fight between the two longtime rivals, Diaz was candid enough to say Bradley won’t replicate the stunning win he scored against Pacquiao in their first meeting four years ago.

Diaz was still the one in-charge of Bradley’s corner when the American stunned the world in 2012 by dethroning the Filipino boxing icon of his World Boxing Organization (WBO) 147-lbs title belt in 2012 following a shocking split decision.

“The statistics of boxing and logic tells us that if Bradley fought Pacquiao ten times – he would not win,” said Diaz in an interview with ESPN Deportes. “Pacquiao has already figured him out, he has his numbers.”

Diaz and Bradley were still with each other when the 32-year-old California native lost to Pacquiao by unanimous decision in their 2014 rematch.

The two eventually split in September of last year, paving the way for Teddy Atlas to become Bradley’s new trainer.

But Diaz was not about to totally rule out a win by a boxer who he guided to three world championships, saying there's still a small possibility of a Bradley win.

“There’s always possibilities (of an upset) with a top level fighter as disciplined as Tim Bradley,” he said. “He is a top level fighter who leaves nothing out (in training camp) and prepares very strong.”
