EIGHT hours of waiting and Floyd Mayweather was a no-show.
The retired unbeaten boxing champion spurned a scheduled press conference for him at the Resorts World Manila where members of the working media were made to wait from 3 p.m to 11 p.m.
The 41-year-old Mayweather arrived at the hotel around 11 p.m. after honoring a commitment earlier in the day following his arrival from Boracay.
But instead of going straight at the Grand Bar lounge for the long-delayed press conference, Mayweather's entourage instead already called it a day.
Resorts World Manila Corporate Communications Director Joee Guilas told waiting mediamen Mayweather will no longer be coming.
"We are very sorry to have kept you waiting for so long. But we are sorry we have to tell you that Mr. Floyd Mayweather is no longer coming to the press conference," said Guilas in addressing the throng of mediamen.
"Just like you, we're very excited to meet the boxing legend. But unfortunately, we cannot make that happen today. Our apologies. Our apologies. Thank you."
