FOR attacking a much older man, Ilocos Sur governor Chavit Singson said Brandon Rios' conditioning coach Alex Ariza deserves to be fed to his tigers.
A political kingpin down north who takes care of a number of tigers in his famous Baluarte residence in Vigan, Singson told Spin.ph that what Ariza did to his estranged partner Freddie Roach was uncalled for.
The controversial government official said Ariza deserves the ire of Filipinos after he kicked an older Roach on the chest and mocked his slurred speech during a scuffle between the two camps on Wednesday.
“Pangit yun (yung ginawa ni Ariza). Hindi na niya ginalang si Freddie. Hindi naman siya ang kausap (ni Roach) in the first place … si (Rios trainer) Robert Garcia,” Singson said.
Asked what he will do in case Ariza wanders into his province, Singson broke into laughter and said: “Pwede naman siya pumunta run (sa Ilocos). Papakain ko siya sa tiger (laughed).”
Turning serious, Singson urged other members of Manny Pacquiao's entourage to be more forgiving of Ariza, who was the Pacman's conditioning coach for five years until he was fired this year.
“Huwag na nating gantihan 'yun. Pangit lang lalabas sa atin. Pangit na nga ginawa niya eh di mas pangit tayo kung gaganti pa tayo,” he said.
Other members of Pacquiao's camp, however, are not as forgiving.
Pacquiao’s childhood friend and longtime assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez also expressed his disgust at Ariza which he admitted he has long kept.
“Wala namang alam sa boxing yan eh. Ang alam niya manipa lang eh,” said Fernandez, adding all went well in Pacquiao's training camp for the Rios fight because Ariza was no longer around.
Addressing Ariza in the video, Fernandez continued: “Alam mo, wala kang alam sa boxing. Ang alam mo lang manuntok at manipa. Magharap ka ng kaparehas mo, wag yung may edad.”
