THE camp of Charly Suarez is urging WBO junior featherweight champion Emmanuel Navarrete to give the Filipino challenger a rematch instead of vacating the title and going up in weight.
Former Ilocos Sir Gov. Chavit Singson, manager of the 36-year-old Olympian, declared its the fight the people want to see given the controversial circumstances in which the title fight between the two ended.

"Automatic rematch supposed to be. Pero kung tinanggal na nila sa 130, paano pa magre-rematch," said Singson, alluding to the reported decision of the Navarrete group to move up to lightweight following his recent struggle to make the 130lbs limit.
"Iwas pusoy na sila."
Singson accompanied Suarez, trainer Delfin Boholst, and team coordinator Rick Navalta when they faced members of the local media for the first time since that controversial loss to Navarrete last week in San Diego.

"The world obviously wants to see that fight again," said Navalta. "It was explosive from the opening round when the bell rang. Everybody was up on their feet. It was a battle."
Navarrete retained his 130-pound title via technical decision in Round 8 after suffering a huge cut on the upper part of his left eyebrow.
The referee ruled the cut as a result of a headbutt that led to the technical decision as Navarette was leading in all of the three judges' scorecards.
But replays of the sequence showed a strong left by Suarez opened the gash that left Navarrete bloodied for the rest of the 12-round bout.
Had the referee ruled ita legitimate punch, Suarez would have been declared winner by TKO.
Suarez and his group appealed the decision before the California State Athletic Commission, which will rule on the matter by June 2.
