IF plans don’t miscarry, Johnriel Casimero is set to end the year with a big title showdown against South African Zolanie Tete.
Through a letter given to both camps, the World Boxing Organization (WBO) has set a 10-day deadline for the management of both fighters to reach an agreement for a late November fight for the world bantamweight championship.
Casimero, 29, earned the right to be the mandatory challenger against Tete following his 10th-round knockout of Mexican Cesar Ramirez over the weekend.
If an agreement is not reached within the time frame, ‘a purse bid will be ordered pursuant with the WBO regulations of world championship contests.’
International matchmaker Sean Gibbons, president of Manny Pacquiao (MP) Promotions who holds the rights on Casimero, has expressed intention of having the fight held in the U.S.

Frank Warren Queensberry Promotions is the lead promoter of the 31-year-old Tete.
Gibbons and Senator Manny Pacquiao have reportedly already made a significant offer to the camp of the South African along with partner PBC (Premier Boxing Champions).
“Senator Pacquiao is committed to creating the best scenarios for his MP Promotions fighters to have a level playing field to win,” said Gibbons in a statement.
