EIGHT months after, the Japan Boxing Commission (JBC) has never forgotten.
The boxing body gave Filipino fighter Renerio Arizala a total of 3 million yen (P135,000) as financial aid following the brutal loss he suffered in Yokohama, Japan last May.
The JBC coursed the assistance through the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) under Chairman Baham Mitra.
Arizala, 25, was on hand to receive the financial support along with his mother Jovencia Gemino Arizala. Also present were Mitran and officials of JBC.
The Filipino suffered a sixth round stoppage against Tsuyoshi Tameka in their March 31 featherweight fight at the Osanbashi Hall in Yokohama.
He later collapsed in his dressing room following the loss.

The boxer from Masbate was later taken at the Yokohama City Minato Red Cross Hospital where he underwent two brain surgeries and was in coma for 10 days.
Arizala survived the ordeal and returned to the country last May 16.
The JBC, which along with the Japan Pro Boxing Association and Japanese matchmaker Takashi Aoshima, accompanied Arizala back to the Philippines and awarded him a medal of bravery.
Arizala has since retired from boxing, compiling a record of 13-9-3 with 5 KOs.
