?KUALA LUMPUR? - Manny Pacquiao's promotional outfit has eased concern over ticket sales for the Filipino ring hero's fight against reigning champion Lucas Matthysse ?scheduled this Sunday at the Axiata Arena.
Arnold Vegafria, business director of MP Promotions, said ticket sales has picked up thanks to the help of both the Malaysian and Philippine government as well as a 'bayanihan' effort by Flipinos based in Malaysia.
"Ticket sales are doing okay because of the joint efforts among the Malaysian government, the Philippines embassy in Malaysia, OFWs and the Filipino businessmen association in Malaysia. Parang bayanihan," Vegafria said.
According to Vegafria, VVIP, VIP and platinum tickets are now sold out and only the silver and bronze tickets are available in the days leading up to the fight.
Per SMTickets.com, VVIP tickets are sold for P263,500 Php the ViPs went for P105,850. Diamond tickets are priced at P52,850, platinum at P26,350, silver at P13,100 and bronze at P6,500.
?Discounts are given to Filipino OFWs, placed at 600,000 here, while the school heads of Brickfields Asia College ?(BAC) ?also reached out to Vegafria for discounted rates among its students.
“The good senator wanted to promote boxing in Malaysia that is why all students and athletes can watch the fight on Sunday at discounted rates.”
The usual six percent GST (Goods and Services Tax) was also scrapped by the Malaysian government, meaning tickets can be purchased at face value at myticket.asia and at the Axiata Arena. ?
?"It's all systems go," Vegafria said.?
