Any dress but black for 'simple' Mrs Pacquiao

LAS VEGAS – Jinkee Pacquiao may look every bit fashionable in the eyes of many, but believe it or not the stunning wife of boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao isn’t very particular with the dress she wears, especially on nights when his popular husband climbs the ring.

“Kahit ano lang naman ang magustuhan kong isuot, ke branded, high end, or local na damit. Basta kung saan ako kumportable,” said Jinkee, hours before Pacquiao squares off with Timothy Bradley in a 12-round title bout.

Jinkee has attracted her share of attention in the course of her husband's phenomenal rise to stardom, first as the quietly suffering wife as Pacman lived a life of vices and now as a deeply religious partner who has succeeded in convincing her partner to change his ways.

Like her husband, Mrs. Pacquiao has become a product endorser and commercial model gracing billboards along Edsa as well as magazine covers.

But Jinkee stressed that she is not as vain as some people may think.

Her collection of Louis Vuitton and Hermes bags is well-known, but Jinkee stressed it doesn’t matter if her bag – or shoes, for that matter – matches exactly with her clothes.

“Hindi naman necessarily terno, kung ano lang talaga ang gusto ko,” said Mrs. Pacquiao. “Basta ang importante naman `yung fight ni Manny, hindi `yung kung ano ang isusuot ko,” she added laughing.

Her outfit for fight night is eagerly awaited by fashionistas, but she stressed that for her it isn't as important as the fight itself.

“Hindi naman kasi ako conscious. Basta ang importante, manalo si Manny,” she said.

The only no-no for her on fight nights are black dresses. Not for anything else, but for the simple reason that she’s not fond of wearing black.

“Ayoko ng black kasi, dati pa hindi na ako mahilig sa black,” she said.

Other than that, she doesn’t follow any routine every time Pacquiao sees action atop the ring.

“Prayer lang, kasi it helps when you pray to God,” added Jinkee.
