SAN JUAN ruled the 2019 Metro League Bowling Invitational on Wednesday at the Playdium Bowling Center in Quezon City.
San Juan pooled 2753 pinfalls to beat Parañaque (2531) and Quezon City (2474) for the top plum in the team event in this maiden edition of the tournament for employees of different LGUs in Metro Manila.
San Juan took home P30,000, while Parañaque got P10,000. Quezon City won P5,000.
Rosette Laquian of San Juan took the overall crown in the singles event with a score of 580 in three-game series, beating Majorie Ann Reyes of Parañaque and Bennette Solisa of San Juan, who had 527 and 506, respectively, in the competition organized by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) through Metro Sports Inc.
San Juan also won the doubles event with Batac and Laquian combining for 1208. Parañaque finished second as Joselito Enaje and Reyes totaled 1144, while the second San Juan team of Emilio Solisa and Bennette Solisa collected 1084 for third.
Philippine Bowling Federation president Steve Robles and MMDA traffic chief Bong Nebrija were the guest of honors in the event.
