JOJIE Cabacungan beat Cely Bunag, 189-176, to win the 5th Open Center Finals of the 3rd SM Bowling Cup on Sunday at Mall of Asia Bowling and Leisure Center.

The 55-year old businesswoman from Bulacan gave a modest appraisal of her performance: “Parang may halong suwerte. Wala lang, suwerte lang.”

Cabacungan bagged the P50,000 grand prize and is set to play in the national tournament of the SM Millionaire’s Cup in her second year in the series.

It was Cabacungan’s first ever match against Bunag, a fellow Philippine Senior Bowlers member.

The 68-year-old Bunag, who has made it to the final tournament in the last three years, says she is proud of her achievement as a senior.

“Hindi naman tayong umuuwi ng luhaan pero siyempre gusto ko ring mag-champion,” said Bunag, who runs a catering business in Quezon City.

The 5th Open Center Finals featured 47 bowler. The third year of the SM Millionaires Cup offers over P6 million in cash prizes.
