LARA Posadas-Wong toped the qualifier for the women’s open of the Philippine International Open Tenpin Bowling Championships 2019 at the Coronado Lanes in Starmall, Mandaluyong City.
Posadas tallied 1,384 pinfalls after two days to gain a spot in the women’s open proper where a huge international contingent will be going after reigning champion Liza Del Rosario.
“There are too many talented bowlers out there and I hope to sustain this performance in the finals,’’ said Posadas-Wong, who took first place by 51 pinfalls over 2017 World Cup champion Krizziah Tabora and 91 over youth bowler Bea Hernandez.
The top three in the open will move to the finals where Del Rosario is already seeded.
Posadas also helped Pugo Adventure Team to the Corporate Cup title last weekend. She was joined in the team by Scott Uy, Peter Go and Marc Matias.
In the men’s open, Kenneth Chua totaled 1,440 pinfalls after two rounds followed by Frederick Ong (1,412) and Merwin Tan (1,388) in the competition backed by Pagcor, Cafe Puro, Prima Pasta, Boysen Paints, Linden Suites and the Philippine Sports Commission.
