    Aug 27, 2013

VETERAN internationalist Liza del Rosario and national bowler Raoul Miranda produced sizzling scores to lead the second batch of national finalists in the 2013 Bowling World Cup qualifiers held in 13 different centers.

Miranda recorded a 12-game series of 2747 pinfalls to pace Richie Poblete (2669), Mar Serac (2637), Jeremy Posadas (2630), Jeff Carabeo (2470), Jay Catolico (2467), Paulo Valdez (2463), and Benshir Layoso (2461) in the men’s division.

Lara Posadas and Rachelle de Leon were the next best scorers in the ladies’ group with 1989 and 1902, respectively.

The second batch of finalists will join other bowlers who made it to the national finals in the first qualifying round.

The men’s and ladies’ finalists will dispute the right to represent the Philippines in the 49th Bowling World Cup scheduled from November 15 to 24 at the Sibiryak Center, Kransanoyarsk, capital city of Russia, province of Kransanoyarsk Siberia.

The national finals will be held on September 14-15 at Coronado Lanes (Starlanes), September 17-18 at Paeng’s Midtown and September 20 at SM Mall of Asia.

Busan Asian Games gold medalist and national bowler Krizziah Tabora carried the Philippine colors in last year’s international finals in Wroclaw, Poland. Tabora landed in 14th place while Bautista finished 34th.
