The fourth edition of the Women’s World 10-Ball Championship takes place from August 20 to 24 at Robinson’s Galleria in Mandaluyong City, Dragon Promotions announced Saturday.
Kelly Fisher will defend her title against forty-seven players from different countries, including the Philippines.
Also expected to contend is the country’s own bet Rubilen Amit, who tries to regain the same crown he won during the inaugural edition of the event in 2009.
Pool players from the Netherlands, China, Germany, Japan, Belguim, Korea, Australia, Taiwan, France and the United States will also attempt to make a breakthrough this year.
“I personally look forward to this event every year,” said Dragon Promotions founder Charlie Williams, also a top pool player in the United States, in a statement. “The atmosphere is electric and the pressure is incredible on these fine ladies. They fight tooth and nail from the round robin stage until the single elimination rounds.”
A qualifier will be held on August 18 to 19 at the Star Billiards Hall in Quezon City to determine who will enter the main draw.
