EFREN ‘Bata’ Reyes finally won against Earl Strickland in ‘The Battle of the Legends’ by beating the American, 21-15, in the 10-ball competitions in Astoria, New York.
Reyes got a measure of consolation in winning the third and final match versus Strickland, who won the first two contests of the one-on-one between two legends of the sport.
Reyes won US$3,000 that goes with winning a match in the event.
Earlier, Strickland, known as ‘The Pearl’ in the pool circuit, beat Reyes, 21-17, in the 9-ball contest after taking first blood of the series with a 17-11 victory in the 8-ball.
