THREE-TIME defending champion San Beda and Far Eastern University-Diliman defeated separate rivals on Monday to arrange a finals showdown in the Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup juniors division.
Marc Diputado had 18 points and Evan Furague added 16 as the reigning Filoil titlist Red Cubs beat La Salle Greenhills, 77-64, to make it to the finals for the fourth straight time since the high school division was introduced by the league in 2011.
Brandrey Bienes scored 15 points, Marvin Lee had 12, and Chris Fajarito added 11 points and 11 rebounds to lift the Baby Tamaraws to a 65-60 win over Ateneo in the other semifinal.
The final match is set on Sunday, 9:30 a.m. at The Arena in San Juan.
The Red Cubs, who placed second in Group B with a 3-2 slate, overcame the Junior Blazers, who topped Group A with a 4-1 card.
Despite having an inferior record at the end of the eliminations, the second-seeded Baby Tamaraws (4-1) were able to beat Group B top-seed Ateneo (3-2).
